The Astrologers

Rick Levine, an internationally known astrologer living in Redmond, WA, is the author of numerous books and magazine articles and has made many radio and television appearances over the years. He founded The Center for Astrological Research and Education and was a founding trustee of the Kepler College for Astrological Arts and Sciences near Seattle. Rick served for two terms as president of the Washington State Astrology Association and is a member of the major professional organizations for astrologers. His active consulting practice has included institutional clients such as the Natural Products Quality Assurance Alliance, where he was executive director in the mid-1990s, and Bastyr University, the largest naturopathic medical school in North America.

Armand M. Diaz, Ph.D., is certified as a consulting astrologer by the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR) and is also a member of the Astrological Association of Great Britain. He has studied divination and oracles for more than 20 years, working primarily with the I Ching and Tarot in addition to astrology. His interests are in the areas of Jungian psychology, the astrology of healing, and the healing power of nonordinary states of consciousness. He has published articles on the astrology of politics and social phenomena in Geocosmic Journal, The Astrological Journal, and The Mountain Astrologer. Armand earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia and a master’s at Hofstra. His doctorate is in Transformative Studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where he won an Esalen Scholarship for his study of the lives of psychic-mediums. His book, Integral Astrology: Understanding the Ancient Discipline in the Contemporary World, was published in May 2012.

Laura Nalbandian is a second generation astrologer, teaching and practicing astrology since 1986. She is one of the premier astrology teachers in Washington and teaches on a variety of levels. Laura’s philosophy centers on the soul’s evolution through lifetimes of incarnations; that our soul chooses the complete set of circumstances to be born into in any given life. These circumstances include the date, time, location, parents and cultural system, and they provide us and the soul exactly what is needed to evolve. Laura is known internationally as the coordinator of the Northwest Astrology Conference (NORWAC), which takes place annually in the Seattle area and draws some of the world’s top astrologers.

Ray Merriman is president of The Merriman Market Analyst, Inc., an investment advisory firm specializing in market timing products and services. In a career spanning more than three decades, he has been the VP of retail commodity accounts at a major Wall Street brokerage firm, a Commodities Trading Advisor (CTA with the National Future Association), arbitrator of disputes between brokers and clients, researcher, international lecturer, independent trader, and editor of The MMA Cycles Report, an advisory newsletter used by banks, financial institutions, investors and traders. An astrologer since 1967, he is the author of numerous astrology books and also has developed financial astrological software enabling traders to identify potential turning points in various stocks and financial futures markets. He is actively involved in the astrology community and served as president of the International Society of Astrological Research from 1994-2000 and 2002-2008. Ray has a B.S. in psychology and did post-graduate work in clinical psychology at Michigan State, the University of Michigan, and Oakland University. In June 2012, he launched the Merriman Market Timing Academy, a two-year program teaching his unique methods of market timing, market analysis, and trading.

Steven Shroyer combines his formal medical training with a variety of astrological disciplines in his consulting practice in the Greenwood district of Seattle. He has a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States and began studying astrology in the 1970s. He is writing a book about medical astrology and recently launched a new project elaborating on the work of Dane Rudhyar and Marc Edmund Jones, two of the pioneers of modern transpersonal astrology and a major influence on the New Age movement.
